It is very exciting times for me, my family and my friends. What began two years ago as a tiny idea which I never really believed would happen, happened! On Saturday, March 19th, Renovar the Store had its soft opening. We are now at 100 South Broad, Griffith, IN and we couldn’t be more excited!
As customers shuffled in and out of the store that day, we heard many positive remarks about the store and the buzz that something new and exciting has come to town. We also answered many questions such as:
“What does Renovar mean?” – It’s the Spanish word for renew, hence it’s similarity to the English word “renovate”.
“Will you be having furniture painting workshops?” – Absolutely! Paint workshops will begin in a couple of weeks. We will be announcing our schedule for the first round of classes soon! We are also working on canvas classes, sign nights and children’s classes.
“Are you an antique store or a salvage shop?” – Although we use many vintage items in our design, we are neither an antique store or a salvage shop. We are a home decor store that sells uniquely vintage products and gifts, one-of-kind furniture pieces, Farmhouse™ brand paints and applications and tools for diy furniture refinishing projects.
Most import to us…we are an information resource for those who want to learn how to refinish their own furniture pieces. I have over 15 years experience in rehabbing the old and making it beautiful again. I am also a certified Farmhouse™ Paint instructor and dealer.
Our first week went better than we could ever have asked for. We sold many of our vintage-style bags, our GMO-free soaps, home decor items and many of our furniture pieces including a beautiful vintage 1920’s-1930’s 5-drawer dresser refinished with charcoal gray sides. I am excited for what the future brings and for all of the new people I have met and will meet during our classes.
